Terms and Conditions of Survey / Reporting

  • The decision as to whether access to the vessel was given with the vessel afloat or in drydock/ashore was taken by the Managers/Beneficial Owners of the vessel and our attendance was in accordance with this decision.
  • Our access was limited to those areas and parts of the vessel which were exposed, visible and accessible. The decision as to removals and/or access work to allow us access to any other parts of the vessel was taken by the Managers/ Beneficial Owners and our access was limited accordingly. Our report implies no guarantee against latent defects or defect not discoverable during survey due to limited access.
  • Inspection of machinery, generators, equipment, piping, wiring, tanks, electrical and electronic equipment was necessarily superficial under the terms of our instructions. Inspection involving disassembly, continuous operation or detailed inspection by a qualified expert and/or manufacturers’ representative has not been effected unless specified in this report.
  • Mast and rigging have only been examined from deck level and as accessible and no inspection with the mast unstepped and the rigging removed has been effected unless specified herein.
  • We have not made any calculations regarding stability of the vessel and no warranty in this respect is given.
  • We have given no warranty as to the structural integrity of the vessel and no guarantee against the existence of possible errors in design or latent defects is either implied or given.
  • Particulars as contained in this report are from information given to us and collated from other sources. Whilst due care has been taken and we believe the particulars and information to be correct, no warranty is given and we accept no responsibility for their accuracy.
  • This report is intended for the specific use of the instructing party and shall not be given to any unauthorised third party, except any party who may have a right of access to it for normal business purposes in terms of the original instructions.
  • The intellectual property of this report remains with Stewart and Hazell Marine Services Limited.
